I went to order about 50 of your fine video amp'd J-Pac's ;) well, 2 anyways... and there was nothing to really indicate that the product you are purchasing is the new video amp J-Pac. Other than the 2 dollar increase...

I just wanted to make sure about the Video Amp J-Pac being what you get for the $57 price tag. I am sure this would save you a lot of email questions a s well, until your web page is updated.

By the way... everyone NEEDS to buy one of Andy's products :) By them all, even if you don't have an arcade project!

---------------------------------------

: I now have the first batch of new J-PACs with on-board video amplifier. This boosts the video signal from 1 volt (VGA) to 4 volts which most arcade monitors are adjusted for, if they have previously been used with game boards. So no more monitor tweaking!
: The amp uses a high-bandwidth 4-channel video amplifier chip and also buffers the composite sync signal.
: There is a small price increase as these chips are not cheap, but I have absorbed some of the extra, making it only $2 more.

: The monitor pass-through connector has been deleted from the new board.

: Later this week I'll have some separate video amplifiers which use the same design as the J-PAC amp. These can be connected in the monitor lead to amplify the signal when using the original J-PAC or direct VGA output.

: The pictures on the site have not yet been updated.

: Apologies for being out of stock of J-PACs for a while. What happened was a PCB-manufacturers worst fate: The first stage in production of a double-sided PCB is drilling all the holes in the bare boards. He drilled all the boards using the wrong drill-file so that the plots did'nt line up with the holes. Result: loads of scrap laminate!
