This joystick looks identical externally to the Happs Super stick except this the shaft is covered by a chrome sleeve. The Happs supers have a black plastic sleeve. Unlike the supers it is available in a range of colours.

I had a chance to try this joystick at a trade show recently. It has a shorter throw than the Supers, and a stronger spring.

What sets it apart from the crowd is the fact that it can be switched between 4 and 8 way operation by flicking a lever. It literally takes seconds.

Industrias Lorenzo (http://www.industrias-lorenzo.com/cgi-bin/miva?~lorenzo/ficha.mv) is a company located in Barcelona, Spain. They manufacture the joysticks sold by Happs (UK). I'm not sure whether they also supply the US branch of Happs.

I've been told by someone at Happs (UK) that they can obtain the joystick although it is not listed in Happs catalogue. Alternatively you could obtain it directy from Industrias Lorenzo.

Andy Warne (seller of the I-Pac) will shortly be selling a joystick on his website and I believe it may be this model.

: Aaargh, I know this is a FAQ, but last I saw it come up here, no real concensus was reached.

: I'd like to know what people think about the various Happ joysticks (and other brands, for that matter.) I'm mounting in 3/4" MDF with a 0.093" Lexan overlay. I think I'd prefer microswitches to leaves. Any suggestions?
