The reason why the second one is better is because it has two stereo out plugs, and a volume control. The volume out on the other adapters is set to very loud headphone levels and too distorted as input to an amp.
The lightgun is supposed to work on VGA monitors . But I've had problems with it not properly calibrating all the time on one monitor.
