I actually agree with you believe it or not. Most matrox cards are hella expensive though. I was going to get one but it would have cost more than the tv I was hooking it to. I figure it's not very cost effective but they are sweet.

: I think you'll find both Matrox G400 and G450 give better TV output as they support custom mode creation, Composite, S-Video and RGB.

: Your right though scan convertors are in general crap, as they mess with the actual RGB colours and hence the picture looks a damn sight worse, picture degradation is also present as is buffering problems/smoothness.

: Personally if your using TV, go for an ATI or Matrox, if your using Arcade monitor go for Native arcade monitor support via the various cards..
