Wow, this is my intensions also. I currently have a 27" SharpImage "B" grade SVGA arcade style monitor. It is a good compromise IMO but my next project is going to be a cocktail with a real 19" arcade monitor and of course a JPAC. A while back I converted a sitdown Japanese JAMMA cabinet (since sold) that I did all the wiring to the JAMMA fingerboard myself using an IDE cable and a lot of solder. I was shocked when it actually worked but I will never do that now that the J-Pac is available.

Not all new arcade CRTs are expensive. I found out I can get a 19" SharpImage (www.sharpimage.net) arcade monitor (RCA tube) for $175 or $185 for the same monitor with a Sony tube. I'm thinking about the Sony tube.

: I have a 'b' grade monitor and would go SVideo if I could do it again. I'm probably going to try a Arcade CRT for a cocktail table when I get to that since I have a 19" arcade CRT already (free always moves to the top the list).
