I like a PC monitor better. I got a 19" pc monitor for $149.99 from best buy the cheapest 19" TV they had was $129.99. Plus with the PC monitor the colors are correct, the monitor will probably fit in the cabinet without taking it out of the case and you only need a cheap 4mb video card to get it to work with mame. The TV with S-video looks good but the colors are slightly washed and your going to have to take it apart to get it in your cabinet. Plus depending on the video card you use it may not be easy to set up from dos. As far as using an arcade monitor your looking at a major investment. If you already have a cabinet with a good 19" monitor it's not a big deal but if you have to buy a cabinet or a monitor it's going to cost you a lot more money. If you have to get a cabinet and you want one with a nice monitor it's going to cost you quite a bit. I got my cabinet with no monitor for $20 from an auction. The cheapest a cabinet went for with a bright monitor without burn in was $250. Remember most of us are playing, people that manage arcades for a living know how much parts alone in a cabinet are worth. Plus with the arcade monitor you have to buy a jpac or you risk blowing out the monitor. It was just too much money for me and too much hassle. Plus I'll tell you anyone who has played on my cabinet has never been like is that actually a computer. As far as they can tell it's an actual arcade game.
