iirc it's because the author of the game has requested it and that was one of the conditions of his aquiring it.
And if you think about it you're not in the same hobby as he is. He spends large sums of money to rescue rare games and you just wait for someone to give you something for free. You'll find a lot of game collectors don't like mamers.
