That is what I do. The arcademonitor needs power, so you need a PS for it...
My arcade power is an old weird thing with various outputs, among them power to the monitor, which I use. I disconnected the lines from the power to the jamma connector, and have been using this setup with success for over a year..
As always, this is no guarantee it will work for you..
