Yup, they all have some kind of anonymous posting facility. However I think you should strongly consider enabling accounts and passwords so people can have personal profiles. Allow anonymous users, too, but profiles are a good thing. They allow people to save links to their favorite threads, store viewing preferences, receive email notifications, etc. and also allow you to kinda know that someone is who they say they are... With a login cookie it's not like you'd have to type your password every time, either.

Look, there aren't that many trolling problems here because most people who are doing Mame projects are pretty intelligent and responsible.. I am not suggesting that implementing user profiles is needed for troll protection, I just think it allows many nice personalization features and makes using the forums a little easier.


: Not really a concern - I put in much more time maintaining this board than I ever will have to on another forum with passwords. To trim this board takes me sometimes an hour or so. Very cumbersome, another thing I had been attempting to fix. Anyway, unless things got out of control, I'd likely not use passwords at all. I believe most of the software packages allow login-free posting? That would be an important criteria to me I think.
