and the name stands for "water displacer - formula #40". Like you care or something... :)

The problem with using it to clean something is that the WD-40 that remains on the surface will collect dust/dirt/etc, and might require you to clean it more often. But, the same probably holds true for most lubricants.

: i was reading back through old posts and saw that I posted a fix to sticky coin mechs and rejects...I said something like clean them with hot soapy H2O and then spray them with wd-40....just to clear things up someone said that they were afraid to do this cause they think it may harm the palstic....well it will not..it its not a thinner it is a lubricant/ oil...I think it has to do with the Hydrcarbons and the sorta chemistry stuf...blah.....
