An interesting idea, you'd just have to get past the fact that its dimensions are 5 1/8" x 3 3/4" - pretty small for a marquee and even if you could string them all together to make one long 3 3/4" tall marquee, you'd have to split the image up into different pieces.
Plus, for my cabinet, which is 26" wide, you'd need at least 5 of them, and at $119/each, that's pretty darn expensive. Also, I don't know if these have been hacked yet, or even why you'd need to hack them - except to remove the frame.
It's a novel idea, but seems like it would take a lot of work, a lot of money, and a lot of free time. I think the interchangeable marquee with a simple fluorescent light behind it is still the easist option.
