: I have sound in every emu except Callus and Zsnes.
: Sound works if I use the emu in Win98, but it
: seems that when Aracdeos runs the Dos version,
: these 2 emu's don't produce any sound. I have
: played with the configuration settings within
: the emu's but still get no sound. It seems strange
: that all of the other emu's work fine, sound wise,
: but these 2 don't. Any suggestions? Thanks

It is unfortunate but alot of times the sound blaster live
doesn't play nice with dos. It actually uses a sound blaster
emulator for dos. you should be able to see this device in your
system settings. If this is not running or it has an IRQ
conflict (mine did at first) the sound in dos won't work.
For the most part I haven't had any problems running through
a dos window in 98. but that would be the first thing to check..
If this sb16 emulation is running try checking out the usenet. There
is a pretty good news group dedicated to the SB Live. There is a link to
it on Creative's site if I remember correctly.

Just a general recomendation people.... don't use soundblaster
Live for emulators... it will give you more headaches than it is worth
especially if you are making a dedicated cabinet. Go with the
Sound Blaster AWE64. It is a cheap ISA sound card with excellent
sound quality and I haven't found any dos problems with it yet.

Hope this helps,

Jim K
