Occasionally in the manufacturing process, a control panel top will fail to meet Hanaho's quality control standards.  They won't use them for their products, which is of course a good thing :)

However, the damage is primarily cosmetic and minor.  Two sample units were sent to me, pictures below.

These would make good project starters, and Hanaho has offered to sell these tops to BYOAC folks for $30 which includes shipping.  For every unit sold, Hanaho will donate $10 to BYOAC to help offset the costs of the web site.

The units come with holes drilled out for 16 buttons and 2 joysticks, with T-molding attached around the sides of the 3/4" wood.

Please bear in mind that there is a limited quantity of these, there is no warranty or return, and these are units with known defects.  Examine the pictures below if you're interested to see if they'll fit the bill for you.  A new overlay and/or strip and paint job and you've got a nice start on your control panel project.  And, of course, we appreciate the contribution that will be made to BYOAC as well.  Thanks! :)
