The PC Competitor Joystick Interface ------------------------------------ If you look at the image of the circuit, you will see two diagrams. They show the same circuit twice, but with different wiring so that you can connect two arcade joysticks on the same PC gameport. If you only want to connect a single arcade joystick, use the upper diagram. If you want to connect two joysticks, add a new circuit and connect it as shown in the lower diagram. On the arcade joystick side, you need a 9 pin male SUB-D plug. These pins are denoted as JOY1-JOY9 in the circuit. On the PC gameport side, you need a 15 pin male SUB-D plug. These pins are denoted as PC1-PC15 in the circuit. Hint: Most SUB-D plugs have tiny embossed pin-number markings to help you figure out the pins. If you buy the parts, make sure to get LS-type ICs, they include pullup-resistors. Hint: Look for a PC gameport extension cable and cut off one end, so you don't have to solder the PC connector. Pay attention to the direction of the diodes. If everything is done right, the PC should recognize connecting and disconnecting your circuit, and you sould calibrate and test it using the windows gamecontroller panel. If you get no results with windows, try MSDOS emulators also. In case everything goes wrong, you can send me an email. Best Regards Christoph Stahl
