Oh my, that power supply is a big mess. It's a wonder the game comes on at all.

If you really want to fix it up I'd suggest getting the manual off www.spies.com/arcade, invest in a crimping tool and buy a couple of new connectors and re-do those power supply connectors. After that, if wiggling the harness still makes funky things happen, you'll have to inspect that end closely for loose pins in the connectors and/or cracked solder joints on that filter board.

Actually, you can pretty much remove that filter board and plug the wires directly into the main PCB. The filter board is just a useless POJ that the FCC made companies install in games to prevent any stray signals from causing static on the neighbor's radio or TV. Radios and TVs are shielded enough these days that you need not worry about it. Anyway... if you get that cabinet in good shape, there's a big huge pile of other Taito games that will plug right into the same harness as EA.

Good luck.

Tim

: I checked the EPROMS as you suggested and they were all at about 4.74 Volts. But I think this machine might have some major problems. You've already been a huge help, but if you're interested I put some pictures up showing some of the problems.
: Even busted, it's kind of fun to have, I definitely won't be guttin' it out any time soon. Think I'll have to bust out the power tools and maybe build a similar reproduction.
: Thanks a lot, Tim
