: Anyone successful with installing both DirectPadPro software for Playstation controllers using parallel port and PDPI L4 Card game port software on same machine? I have a Win 98SE machine with DirectX7A. Both programs work independently. If both pieces of software are installed you get nothing but General Protect errors (Blue Screen) in the following vxd file....VXD vjoyd(04) + 000043D9 whenever you try to configure the controllers listed in the Game Ports window.

: Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the L4 on a Win98 system using DirectX 7A. I downloaded the DirectPad Pro 5.0 software from the download section of http://www.ziplabel.com/dpadpro/index.html. I then unzipped it into a temporary directory. I went into the Control Panel and went into "Add New Hardware". When it didn't find any devices I selected Other from the next list then I selected Have Disk and browsed to where I unzipped the DirectPad Pro at and then I clicked ok. DirectPad Pro was shown in the box then. I clicked ok and it installed it just fine. I went into the Game Controllers next and was able to add a DirectPad Pro control (I don't actually have any) just fine. I also tried adding another control to my L4 and even calibrated it just fine. I deleted and re-added that same control just fine as well. My guess is that you did not install the DirectPad Pro software as a hardware driver (which it is).
