Yes the genius mouse driver works in dos (I send it to saint ;-) ). But you can also try emu+. It supports an extra mouse. That way you can have your trackball and the ww spinner supported by mame at the same time. With the genius mouse drive you have to point the driver to one at a time. I tried that some time ago and it works.

: Check out the BYOAC front page as Saint has a link to a generic mouse driver (genius) that allows the Wingman Warrior to work in DOS - I know it works because I tried it myself!
