: Hey, I also planned to get the Optical Rotating Joysticks from Happ, I already got my UGCI USB interface board, very impressive kit..

: As for the problem with dual joystick for Player 1 and 2, I download the MAME source and all the stuff required to compiler it, had a look at the source for the Ikari driver, and I managed to Change the default

: Player 1 to use IPT_TRACKBALL_X
: Player 2 to use IPT_TRACKBALL_Y

: You see you get two leads from the Trackball interface, one being X, and one being Y.

: Works a treat.. =)

: I also believe we can interface with the 360 degree steering wheel from Happ also, (as I plan todo a driving panel, with High/Low shifter with Turbo button and dual foot pedal, I looked at the souce for system16.c and changed Outrun to work with this setup, so that can be done too).

: I also on this theory, can have dual steering wheel cabinet,
: Player 1 using the IPT_TRACKBALL_X
: Player 2 using the IPT_TRACKBALL_Y

: and two sets of dual foot pedals, for games like Super Off Road, HotRod and them type of driving games when they finally become emulated.. give it time..

:
: : Now I wonder how it would be possible to do two player Ikari warriors. If you had two rotating joysticks with two interfaces, they would both control the same mouse pointer but you could, and I have verified this with Happ, make them control different axis (whats the plural of axis?) Could you use the x axis for player 1 and the y axis for player 2? Can you assign that kind of control in mame? If not, is it possible to get a message to the mame team that might actually get read (I'm sure they get hundreds of messages daily) and maybe they could add that feature. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to be able to play two player Ikari and I havent seen any solutions better than this. However, I am not proud and if you would care to give me a better suggestion, feel free.
