Your comments along with some others via email got me headed in the heat related direction. The cabinet's power supply occasionally makes a noise from time to time that sounded like the fan to me. I checked the fan and it was spinning but I went and replaced it just the same as I had one laying around, it uses a standard DC12V PC fan.

While looking at the power supply, I popped off the rear access door to the monitor area and low and behold there was the video connector on the pcb but it wasn't totally snapped on. The wire in the connector that was the furthest from being seated properly was the vertical sync wire...hmm I was having vertical sync problems, could it be that simple? I think so! As an added safety, I left the panel off as we have no kids in the house and the cabinet is only a couple inches from the wall so it would be next to impossible to get shocked but I think the added ventilation surely couldn't hurt.

I need to test it longer but I had it running about 2 hours last nite with no jittering so I am hoping it is fixed!

Thanks again for your comments. :-)

: It sounds more like a problem with some component that is only visible above a certain temperature. How warm does the inside of your cab get in that 1st hour?
