I too have just got an old 20" PC monitor at an auction for $20. Apparently 20" monitors are different from reg monitors. For one thing the cable to connect to a PC is different. My monitor has 3 plugs in the back (RGB) and requires a special cable, which you can buy, that goes from the RGB to a video card. It almost seems like these monitors are more like a TV or CRT.
Anyway, I also plan on removing the shell from this monitor. I'll post news when this happens.
