If your using a medium res monitor you'll need to have your VGA card output a 25khz horizontal sync instead of the standard (low) res output of 15.75khz. Andy Geez is working on some drivers for the voodoo3/5 when he has them complete you should be able to use your medium res monitor with Mame.
