: Hi!

: I got some questions...

: 1. I´ve decided to connect a psx to my arcade cabinet, but is there a gun that works on ALL psx lightgun games? Incl. Time Crisis, Area 51, Die hard Trilogy 2 and so on...

: 2. I´ve also decided to hook up a pc to my arcade, so my second question is if there is a way to make a switch between a pc and a psx...?

: 3. And finally the third question. If I use mame on an arcade monitor do I have to rotate the arcade monitor or is there a option that fixes that like it does on pc monitor?

: I hope you understand my poor english ;)

There are quite a few light guns that have support for both Guncon (Namco) and regular light gun games. Most newer ones have these features. Some actually have support for Sega Saturn as well. As far as switches go, that really isn't possible unless you go with the Multi-jamma hardware that's out there. Its no big deal though. You'll only have two fingerboards. One for PSX and one for PC. It actually may be possible to wire everything to the same fingerboard but I wouldn't try it. For rotating games, Mame can play vertical games on arcade monitors but some of the screen is missing on the top and bottom. An alternative is Advance Mame which allows for the entire screen to be shown on vertical games but the result is some lines missing. Your best bet is to go with a rotating monitor but really its not that big of a deal. However, some of the best games are vertical so it's something to consider.
