I have a U3100, and even in 800x600 mode, vector games do not look very good. That is because the dot pitch is so high on those monitors. Everything is blurry.
For vector games, actually, PC monitors look best IMHO. I have actually built 2 cabinets: 1 for vertical games (which is where my U3100 is), and a second for horizontal games. (That is where my PC monitor is).
