When I built my cabinet, I recall having quite a few probelms developing a key config that
would support the 4 above emus without any conflicts. If you only run one emu, no need
to worry, and two isn't complex either. To tell you the truth, you could probably get away
easily with three, as long as you don't throw 'Callus' into the picture. Basically, all of this
crap simply to play a cool version of 1941 and Final Fight. :)

It didn't even seem that hard of a task at first. I simply printed up the documented 'permanent'
commands of each emu and avoided using them in my layout, along with the notorious Callus
probelms that were discussed quite a bit on the old message board, the most famous being
the unalterable 'Space bar' gui caller and 'Left Shift' being unusable as an action button. Oh
yeah, and the fact that F1-F4 control the player and coin keys (Which is fixable, albeit a pain
in the butt. ). This method would've worked fine, but it seems that quite a few of these
emus have a few undocumented features that are triggered by keys that are not alterable (Again,
Callus comes quickly to mind.) When my 'almost perfect' layout was in test, all sorts of
funky messages would pop up on the game screens of various emus. After a lot of
testing, I did indeed come up with a 'perfect' layout. I've been using it for a few months
now without any problems.

Has anyone else out there encountered similar problems? Is anyone out there thinking
of including all four of these emus? Basically, I was wondering if posting my findings
would be valuable to anyone. I figured it may be a good addition to the new game/emulator
section in the works on this page. I've been sitting on a lot of information which I was
to include on a web site which was to be constructed shortly after I finished my machine,
but it's been months now, still no site, and I really don't want any of my findings to go to
waste.

By the way, Along with my layout, I also have the edited Callus config file that gets the player
and coin keys remapped to buttons 1-4, and the proper config files to get all four emus
running under ARCADEOS.
