I bought a 3" Happs, the size of the ball that sticks out seems much smaller than you would think. When you take the ball out, it looks much bigger. I think the types of games you are going to be playing should dictate the size. The 4" was for a very few games.
One big advantage of the 2 1/4 is that you can fit pool table balls in it, they are the same size. Get an 8 ball and really trip everyone out!
