Nope, I've never needed to adjust vertical hold when changing games (only thing I need to adjust sometimes is the Vertical Height Size)..
Monitors tested our:
Wells Gardener 19" Model K7000 or something like that.
And the monitor in my Sega Swing is a lot more advanced, don't need to adjust the v-hold even when changing from 60hz to 50hz.
Also I guess it depends on the sync output of the videocard which matters, As this has to be altered too for Arcade Monitor display..
