Hey all,

I recently finished enough of my cabinet that I could actually play games (yeah!). I have it setup to boot to Win98:SE Dos and load ArcadeOS rightaway. That doesn't seem to be a problem, infact it runs 99% of my games great!

I did manage to uncover a few issues with my setup though.. When I try to run the larger games (Metal Slug 2, kof98, etc) I either get a DPMI page fault message and the system locks, of I get a little white box in the top left of my screen that says "A serious disk error has occured while writing to the disk, do you want to retry? (r)" or something similar to that.

I'm stumped as to why this is happening, and if I let the system boot into Windows, I can play those games without any problem. My system specs follow:

Celeron 300A
Asus P2B Mobo
8mb Xpert98 Video card
256mb ram
20gb fujitsu hd...

the only things that I load in my config.sys/autoexec.bat are my sound card drivers and smartdrv.exe. Bootgui is set to "0" to get the nice old Dos prompt.

All this hardware is from my old machine except for the HD which I just bought yesterday :)

I've tried csdpmi3b, and also csdpmi4b (thanks to c0nsumer for the file.. fixed some of my problems). the 4b version lets a few more games run.. but it still crashes out on the big games.

So does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? The fact that the games play ok when I boot into a windows gui make me think that it may be a problem with the csdpmi driver and smartdrv.exe, but things are waaaaaay too slow when i don't loadup smartdrv :)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

-Daz
