I have the same trackball, and plan on getting a translucent ball as well. My thoughts are to get a car tail light bulb and mount it below somehow. I would not bother getting the Happs light and assembly, the only thing you have to be careful of is heat. I'm going to power it by extending a Molex connector and take the 12v from that.
