I have an old (early 80s) wico trackball that was used with a commodore 64. I've tried hacking a mouse and connecting the photodetectors on the trackball in place of those on the mouse (an old 2 button microsoft mouse). I know the wico used 5v so I powered the photodetectors with a +5v supply. I think the problem is the photodetector on the Wico only generates around .65 volts while the ones on the mouse
generates 5.6 or so volts.

Has anyone ever connected this type of trackball to a mame machine?

Thanks,
Keith
