Exactly - a POT will not do a full 360, as in the Starwars controller, and Paperboy handlebars. The reason a POT works better is because you can center it. If you use a mouse, you can assure that when the controller is centered each time, the game (action) will be centered...

The Gyro mouse looks good, but it is $99. Thats a lot of $$.

:
: : My suggestion would be to use POTs instead of the encoders whenever you can though. They are cheaper, and easy to wire into the Joystick port. For the starwars yoke and paperboy controller atleast.

:
: They don't do a full 360, and with the encoders, the controllers are hot swappable. With the joystick one, it may be harder to configure for each different game.

: What do you think of that Gyro-mouse? Definitely the only real solution for a light gun at this point.
