I totally agree. I'm working on an article documenting the building of a cab + setting up various emus under Linux. The I-Pac rocks, right out of the box (well bubble wrap bag thingie..) I also picked up a connector for the LEDs (num, caps + scroll lock) for ~$15 that you can mount. It just plugs into the I-Pac. Andy was cool answering all sorts of assinine questions I had (Can 2 be hooked together without USB? What USB drivers are used? blah... blah...) The keys are already mapped for you. I have 2 joysticks with 8 buttons each. The control keys (esc, tab, etc.) are accesed by holding down the player 1 start button and hitting other keys (like a shift button). I'm pretty much an idiot + got it up + running. One hint: Pick up some barrier strips at Rat Shack + use female quick connects from the controls to the barrier, then regular wire to the I-Pac. The barrier is esp. handy for all the grounds (the I-Pac has 2 connects for grounds, so I connected all the button grounds to a barrier + jumpered 'em all down to 1 wire then to the I-Pac). I also noted on the Futura Spinner page that they're working with Andy on an interface for the Futura spinner...

: No soldering even required. All you have to do is screw the wires in. As for configuring the inputs to match Mame's, that's already done for you. You can't go wrong with the I-Pac.
