: Its unfortunate... but while windows can have more than one pointing device... they

: to controll seperate players.

While having separate devices plugged into different inputs does control the pointer, it is obvious that windows does interpret the two signals independently. The proof I have of this is on my machine. I currently have a PS/2 mouse plugged in and I also have a serial trackball. I use the Logitech mouseware program for adjusting sensitivity because it allows me to adjust the serial and ps/2 pointing devices indepentantly. This is awesome because I prefer my trackball to be much more sensitive than my mouse. You can also change other things (like if you have a notebook with a trackball that hangs off the side, kind of diagonally, the program will let you calibrate it so you can use true 'up' instead of having to go slightly diagonal for 'up' (and all other directions).

I'm sure one day the MAME team will come up with something to allow multiple trackballs. I have been dreaming of head-to-head marble madness. Maybe netplay will come out first.....
