Keyboard Encoder???

Keyboard encoeder? ...

I want to build a control panel for each emulator i have....
Genesyst, Snes and nestacle, mame...

My question is: what kybrd encoder will let me load/save button configurations?

I want to be able to hook up a different controler and load the button configuration for that specific controler quickly to the encoder.

Anyone know what keyboard encoder would do this?

im also thinking to design one control to meet all my needs in one... is this recomended?
or is it more fun to have one for each style? In a way i feel it would be more fun to have one controler for each emu.

Like, if its a one player, have a one player control panel if its a 2 player have a 2 panel.. if its a NES have only the controls that a simple NES would have for each controler. i know it sounds like id be spending more money... but does it seem like more fun or just a big usless mess.

I dunno... so i ask for your opinions :)
