I have a Voodoo 3000 and I connected it through S-Video to my SONY TV just for fun. I was a bit amazed that it did work in DOS, even during boot up sequence and in BIOS setup :)

The picture quality was also surprisingly good (the quality of the SONY Trinitron tube might help) especially in Windows. The picture in DOS was not as good but not all that bad eithter. Some tweaked video modes do mess up the screen in DOS if I use MAME. That is not the case if I run MAME32 in Windows. I don't know if the picture quality is good enough for a cabinet projekt (it is probably a matter of personal oppinion) I am planning to use an old 20" multisync monitor (with an old CRT-look that I got for free :) so I havn't even thought of using the TV-out and a TV.

I have also heard rumours about working and not working TV-out on Voodoo cards in DOS depending on the firmware version of the card...

: Hello,

: I was wondering what video cards people have working with TV-Out in pure DOS. I have an Asus v3400 in my one computer that I was thinking of using for my cab but I don't know how to get the tv-out to work in pure Dos.

: What tv-out cards work in pure dos???

: Thanks,

: Shane
