Being in the spinner business, this is something that I've looked at a lot myself. Your comment about how the wheels on a car look like they are spinning backward is correct. That is basically what happens.

There are two things that can correct this. One is to have less spokes for the optical encoder to see, and the other is to adjust the settings in Mame. With my spinners this problem doesn't exist.

: This one has definately been asked before (multiple times) but I've forgotten the answer and I'm too lazy to go through and scour the message board archives.

: When you spin a spinner really hard (like when you're playing Tempest) the motion on-screen stutters and sometimes goes in the oposite direction until the spinner slows down.

: I'm sure this is the same effect as watching peoples wheels on the freeway. Sometimes they appear to be spinning in reverse.

: Is there any way to correct this problem other than just being more gentle with your spinner?
