I don't know if it is hot swappable (I just ordered mine yesterday, so I don't have it yet to try), but why not use a small toggle switch instead of a button? You can get a small toggle switch (like a light switch for ON/OFF) for about $1.00 at just about any hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, even Radio Shack has them)...

Let everyone here know what you did as there are others that are probably interested in doing the same thing, but were too afraid to ask...

: I have ordered my IPAC Module, and was wondering if the mode jumper can be switched on the fly. Does anyone know if you have to cycle the power or does it just send the appropriate key table codes based on the jumper setting?

: My plan is to have a hidden button that the NO connection is wired to the jumper. So that unless you hold the button down it is in "Arade mode" and people can't access the menus and such. Sort of a double shift function. The main reason for doing this is because I won't have easy access to the module to change the jumper. If I put the button on the top of the machine I could use a book or something to hold it down to put it into the fully funtional mode.

: Any ideas or suggestions?

: Thanks! :)
