I was leaning towards the RCA first, but then I came across the Phillips. The Phillips is supposed to have a clearer picture, and better picture quality (for TV of course), but I didn't know if the increased resolution on the 27" Phillips would actually be cancelled out by it's larger size (it takes more lines to fill a 27" than a 25"). I am planning on using mainly DOS MAME, but Windows will be loaded, and maybe some Emulators for Win too.

I am heading out tomorrow (Sat) to get one, so now I have 1 vote for the RCA, and 1 vote for the Phillips...
Any others?

: If you are buying the TV for an Arcade cabinet I can highly recommend the RCA model. I just picked that one up to replace an arcade monitor in my MAME cabinet and it works great.

: I can no run windows emus :-)

: I'm using an ATI Xpert@Play 98 with S-Video. The picture quality is very good. Very sharp and very vibrant colors. Don't know much about the phillips but the RCA is nice. I picked it up at Best Buy in Sacramento, CA for $279.

: : I am going to Best Buy (we don't have our own here where I live)this weekend, and I need to know what everyone thinks of the 2 options I am looking at:

: : 1) RCA 25" F25645 (Same as LuSiD's) $280 - 675 lines of Horizontal Resolution - Dark Tube - basic comb filter - S-Video - other non-vital features

: : 2) Phillips Magnavox 27" TP2784C on sale for $299 - 800 lines of H. Resolution - Dark Tube - 3D Y/C Digital comb filter - S-Video - Picture in Picture (no use for a cabinet) - voted a "best buy" by consumer reports a few months ago

: : I am leaning towards #2, as it seems pretty nice, but am I starting to get into a "larger screen, larger pixilation" scenerio?

: : Thanks
