Yeah, I thought about how non-arcade games would be laid out too. I actually have some rather interesting ideas for layouts for some games, like Castlevania: SOTN and MDK (the latter featuring a trigger joystick).

Most games -are- indeed reprogrammable, but I more meant actual layout of the buttons on the pad rather than which button does which. Check out Soul Edge in the arcade and see what I mean- it's buttons are actually laid out in a crescent the shape of a hand's spread. It's really pretty cool too be able to have one finger on each button at the same time. At the same time that layout wouldn't quite work for games like Street Fighter or Tekken, so I'd want different panels.

Robotron X's main control scheme uses the four buttons on the gamepad as firing directions. With the way the circuit board is laid out on a Playstation controller it shouldn't be any different than hooking up the left stick... It should be cool.
