I had hoped to have these ready today but the guys at the PCB plant printed the wrong plot onto the top of the boards so I have a batch of beautiful boards with total garbage printed in nice white lettering on the top. They are going to do them again and I'll give them a kick next week to get them out early in the week.
Cheers

: Cheers Andy,

: Any news on when the opti-interface will be for sale? I can't wait for the mail-man to bring the I-PAC ;-)

: : Hi,
: : The Happs trackball interface does indeed need a power supply. The I-PAC board can supply 5 volts which is on the second pin from the right on the header (top and bottom pins) GND is on the middle pin opposite the missing pin.
: : BUT be careful as the Happs interface might not be referenced to ground. If you connect it up and measure continuity between the ground on the interface and the ground on the PC then it should be OK. Be careful with that 5 volts as it comes from the motherboard keyboard port and will not like being shorted to ground!

: : Incidentally the IPAC otical device interface takes it's power from either the serial port or the mouse port depending on where it's plugged into.

: : : Just ordered my I-PAC.

: : : Does anyone know if it has a provision for, or can be rigged to provide =5v power to power the Happ trackball interface without having to buy the additional power supply from Happ?

: : : TIA
