An excellent approach - and one I will probably adopt. Is it easy for you to pass on which version you launch for which game or is that info not readily transmitted. If it's a huge PITA I'll just learn via trial and error.

: I use A@H as my front end, but depending on the game I may have it launch mame, emu+, mame32, or sometimes even an old mame version. I just use the best version for a particular game. Zaxxon busted? I run it the last MAME before it got busted, Arkanoid? MAME32 because it gives me better analog control (long story). Pong? you get the picture.
: I don't bother with custom game lists because, you guessed it, they are a PITA in A@H. Maybe some nice soul could write a util to help in that department, 'cause I know I'll never get around to it.
: I used to have A@H launch Primal Rage (PC port) for me too, but I got tired of re-adding it to the game list after every new beta.
