OK - I see now. Wasn't thinking of this as I use a regular PC monitor, but I can see for Tv / arcade moitor/ and other uses the video modes can be important.

And for gods sake don't intrpret my comments as any sort of endorsement of Windoze ;-) -you're right, it's a terrible resource hog.

: Don't get me wrong, MAME32 is a great program. But it's limited by Windows - i.e. limited to Windows graphics modes. You cannot tweak and tailor it the way you can DOS MAME. Plus it's slower than DOS. But it's also easier to use, so beginners usually love it at first. I did! :)
