Arcade Monitor: Questions I should ask before buying

I have an empty arcade cabinet which I am converting to work with Mame, after reading alot about the pro's and cons of the different types of monitors I have decided to go for an authenic arcade monitor. I have been told by a local arcade machine supplyer that he can get me a New 20" monitor for Ł100. I have read and understand how to wire the monitor to the vga card, but what if any questions should I ask before purchasing the monitor, for example do arcade monitors plug straight into the mains, I read somewhere about an isolation transformer do I need to purchase one of these as well.
