He shoots he scores! I went to the local arcade supplier today to look around. They had a ton of cabinets, but none that I wanted to pay as much as they were asking. On my way out, I noticed that they had about 5 cabs next to the dumpster. I asked if I could stop by later and snoop around after work and they said I could have anything I found. Well needless to say, I went back and found two double dragon cabs amist various others in bits and pieces. I took the best Double Dragon of the two since that is one of my wife's favorite games. It had the marque, control panel w/ joys and buttons , coin door with working mechs and coin bin, and the PCB. No monitor though. Just as well since I wouldn't know where to start with a junked monitor and I didn't really feel like risking my life. :) Anyway, I'm not sure if the PCB works or not since I have no way to test it out. I'm probably just going to buy a working one off of the internet. The cabinet is a TAITO cabinet and has a little water damage on the front corners, but other than that it's in pretty good shape. Nothing a little wood putty won't fix. :) I'm not going to MAME this cabinet since my wife likes the game so much and I'd still like to design and build my own mame cab in the BNFL Blitz style. This little project will keep me busy until then though.
I also scored a steering wheel panel with wheel and shifter, and about three other coin doors.
What monitor would you suggest for this game if it's just going to be DD?
