Why do that? Just sand smooth & paint.

There's no reason to strip a cabinet. If the paint that's on there is sticking (not lifting or peeling off), just sand it smooth and paint over it. If you are concerned about paint chemical incompatibilities, just put on a quick primer/sealer first. Much easier I think.
