Where keyboard encoders are the fastest that I know off and things like LPT1 pads are the slowest.
Somebody should benchmark the different controllers out there, if not then I'll get off my butt and do it.
For example:
Keyboard uses <=1% in MAME
while PSX LPT1 uses =10% in MAME
That sure does have a knock on effect if the game you are running only just has a few spare % of CPU usage.
Maybe I am taking the speed issues far to seriously?!
