Thanks to a post by JMK a little while back, I checked out the $272 Intergraph SVGA monitors at www.comprenew.com. I though this was a good deal, but I decided to take a chance on a $99 fixed freq. VGA monitor from the same place. It arrived a couple of days ago. It doesn't work with standard MAME resolutions and freqs., but thanks to Advance MAME, I was able to come up with some really good modes to use for all (I think) MAME games. Cheating the HRS settings in MV, I was able to get scanlines (necessary, because the picture on this monitor is exceptionally clear without them -- not good for that classic feel).

Long story short(ish), I'm very surprised by the results. It's maximum resolution is about 750x600. Vector games, raster games, everything looks good. 224x288 was very hard to get, but it's reasonable. Shipped in 4 days from Grand Rapids. Great deal!

BTW - From day to day, their inventory changes. I don't see any of these now, but they still have the SVGA model for $272.00.
