If your upto making your own trackball configuration. You can get a see-through crystal track ball from Comp-Usa. It has a 3" ball and lights up (red color). I took it a apart and make a special panel from a clip board (good hard material to work with). Assemlbled to the cut out board. Works greats and lite effect is nice.

Currently redesigning my mame arcade to with new control panel to have the track ball and spinner I am putting in. Actually it a multi-emulator arcade (MAME, SNES, NES, PCE, GAMEBOY, GENESIS, others). If this is any interest, just drop me a email. I can explain what I did.

: I'm considering getting into this (with a built from
: scratch cabinet) and am playing around with possible
: control panel layouts. I would like to have a trackball
: (for Missile Command, Centipede, Marble Madness, etc.)
: but don't want to have to dedicate a huge amount of
: real estate to it. So, I'm thinking about the Happs
: 2-1/4 inch model. Has anyone used it and found it to
: be too small? Is the 3 inch nicer? Their 4-1/2 inch
: ball looks like it would be just huge.

: Thanks
