The "Y" mouse is an automatic switching device, so you won't have anything to do manually.

If I remember correctly, it is for a PS/2 port - not a standard serial port. The PS/2 port sends data back to the mouse/trackball where a serial device usually doesn't. The "Y" mouse handles all of that for you.

And No, your drive shouldn't have a problem. Since both devices will be the same type (PS2 or Serial), it'll work fine.

: I'd rather not have to manually switch anything, but the idea just came to me if both devices are serial could I run one mouse driver on COM1 and a standard Serial AB switch box to switch between the trackball and the spinner? When I switch from the trackball to the spinner will it make the mouse driver barf? This is just an idea. I'd rather find a solution that doesn't require user control.
