: I have 2 joysticks and 14 buttons on my control panel. How do I make this cp removable? I think I am going to build a second cp to swap with this one. I heard about molex connectors but how does this work? Is it just a matter of basically cutting the wires I have in half and hooking the buttons/controllers ends to one molex connector (male) and connecting the other wires to the corresponding places on a female end?

Well, I'd think that to make the control panel removable you wouldn't want to bolt, nail, or screw it in place. My personal control panel (and Sithspawn's) have T-nuts inside the control panels, L-brackets on the cases themselves and thumbscrews to hold the two together. Now to make the connectors removable, I'd probebly recommend using either a typical DB25 connector, or if you need more pins, use a 50-pin centronics connector like what you'd find on older SCSI cards. Check out some of the pictures I have under the Original Wiring Harness section at http://www.digitalangel.com/golfer.
