VGA , keyboard and mouse cord length...

Does anyone know how far a VGA, K/B and serial signal can travel on the wire before you get degradation?

Since I am low on $$ right now I was going to use my current PC for my cabnet and wire a long stretch of cord for my Monitor, keyboard and mouse into my computer room from my den but I want to make sure everything will work.
